Jota in Celtic dressing-room 'privilege' shout-out as he declares himself 'really happy' at Hoops

Jota admits it's a privilege sharing a dressing room with his Celtic team-mates as he gave a shout-out to his 'amazing' pals.

The Portuguese winger arrived 18 months ago initially on a season-long loan before Ange Postecoglou made it a priority to snap him up on a long-term permanent deal this summer. He's quickly established himself as a fans' favourite and started to rediscover his best form in recent weeks.

The Hoops continued their relentless charge towards a second consecutive Premiership crown after restoring their nine point lead over Rangers at the top with a convincing win over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. Andrew Considine's own goal kicked things off before Kyogo Furuhashi and Aaron Mooy struck before David Turnbull's injury-time fourth. Jota is really happy with how things are going in Glasgow and wants to keep developing and enjoying his football as he heaped huge praise on his fellow Celtic squad members.

He told Celtic's official website : “It’s definitely a good time for me, but I think that happens because the team is supporting me and helping me.

"So a shout-out to them because it’s been a privilege to be in the dressing-room with such amazing team-mates and football players. I just want to continue to develop and enjoy, and I’m really happy.

“There are different situations and you just need to acknowledge what’s the best decision on the pitch. Sometimes you need to do different stuff to break through their defence, and we just tried to do that.

“That’s something we try to work on every day,” Jota said of the team’s consistency. “We don’t think long-term, we think in the preset and we just want to be better.

“We know there’s still plenty of room to develop and we can’t wait for the future to be better and just to being the results to our fans.”
