Jota drama sparks 'tension' between Benzema & Espirito Santo

Jota's potential exit from Al-Ittihad has reportedly sparked tension between Karim Benzema and boss Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Portuguese winger has only made two appearances for the Saudi club since his summer arrival from Celtic.

The 24-year-old joined for a whopping £25million in early July.

But it would seem the former Hoops fans' favourite is already on his way out of the Saudi Pro-League side.

As per the league's rules, with just eight foreign players permitted, Jota is one of the new signings believed to be on the shortlist of players Al-Ittihad wishes to ship out in order to bring other star names in. An internal Middle East loan to fellow Saudi side Al-Shabab is said to be on the cards.

Jota has seemingly struck up a strong bond with Real Madrid hero Karim Benzema during his time in the Arab nation.

And it would seem suggestions of his departure has left the French striker unhappy.

According to media outlet Asharq Al-Awsat, Benzema has raised his concerns over the pending decision to send Jota out on loan.

The report claims that the situation has caused some tense moments between the experienced forward and the manager.

The publication states Espirito Santo has made it clear to Benzema that he "did not ask him to sign" Jota. Instead, it was the club who sanctioned the deal.

It's said that Benzema is not best pleased with the 'lack of professionalism' on show from his new club.
