Celtic star Jota could make his return to the first-team in time for the Champions League showdown with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
It's Ange Postecoglou' s last chance to keep Celtic 's European hopes alive when the Ukrainian champions arrive in Glasgow's east end, with Shakhtar sitting four points ahead of the Hoops going into the final two matches of the group stage. While the winger is set to miss the Scottish Premiership showdown with Hearts on Saturday, Postecoglou has confirmed he could make his return to Euro action.
The likes of Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh will remain on the sidelines, but there was more positive news about the Portuguese star and David Turnbull. When asked for an injury update on Sky Sports, the Australian said: "Pretty much the same as it has been the last two or three games. The guys closest are Jota and Turnbull coming back but with the team travelling well and being able to rotate there is no point rushing them back.
"We’ve got some important games coming up so they should be available next week at some point. The rest of the squad came through Wednesday (at Motherwell) well so we’ll have quite a strong line up tomorrow."
Asked if he may play next week Postecoglou added: "Yeah, a chance but again we don’t want to rush him back, we’ll gauge by how he is going. He is training, he’s away from the main group, we’ll integrate him into team training some point next week."
