Josko Gvardiol has spoken out after Lionel Messi made a mockery of him in Argentina's 3-0 victory over Croatia. The RB Leipzig man has been one of the best performers so far but was left humiliated after Messi's moment of magic ended the match as a competition.
Messi only needs one moment, if that, to change a game and mark a tournament. In the wider scope of football he doesn't need anything, he's done it all, but he still can, so why not continue.
For 45 minutes he walked around holding his hamstring and looking largely disinterested as the Croatian midfield passed him by. He still set the tone for proceedings though, because the game never really started until he got the ball. In those few moments when it did go his way the tempo changed.
