Josie Gibson says she's 'feeling good' about turning 40 but wouldn’t mind looking like JLo

Josie Gibson says she’s “feeling good” about her upcoming 40th birthday but admits she wouldn’t mind looking like age-defying Jennifer Lopez as she reaches the milestone.

Earlier this year, the This Morning presenter vowed she was “not going to grow old gracefully”, but as the big day on January 24 approaches, she says she’s feeling more at peace with it.

Speaking to The Standard, the mum-of-one said: “I’d like my years back but I’m feeling good. I like the woman that I am and I’m very lucky, very fortunate and I’ve got really good people around me. I’ve got a lovely little boy and I’m really happy. If anything happened to me tomorrow I’ve had a good ride, I’ve had a good one. I’ve worked with loads of lovely people, I’ve really had a good time.

“I wish I looked like J-Lo at 40!” she laughed.

She added: “You know yourself, it’s a really good age. It’s a turning point. It’s a big milestone.”

Work-wise, the in-demand Bristol-born star says she is “absolutely manic” after taking time out from This Morning to film two upcoming projects - Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide for Channel 4 and The First Class Travel Show on Channel 5.

She’s due to return to the ITV daytime show later this month and in the meantime, has teamed up with tombola for their Open for Fun campaign.

Britain’s biggest bingo site has dropped QR codes across the UK and is giving away loads of unmissable prizes.

Ever game-for-a-laugh, Gibson dressed up as a giant QR code and roamed the streets of London encouraging people to scan the code to try their luck.

“It was so much fun! she enthused.

“I think life is all about experiences. When you leave this earth, the only thing you are taking with you is your memories and your experiences and your connections so you’ve got to try everything once, haven’t you.

“Apart from This Morning did want me to jump out of a plane once and I did say no to that. I didn’t want to leave this earth too early!”

It’s coming up to a year since she entered the I’m A Celebrity jungle where she finished in fourth place - something she still can’t believe she actually did.

“If I wasn’t scared of spiders like I was, I think I would have enjoyed it a lot more,” she laughed.

While doing the show didn’t cure her phobia entirely, she said: “I don’t look at house spiders quite the same anymore when you see the size of them out there, but no, it didn’t help me.”

She got on great with her campmates however and did come away with a great group of friends, adding: “We’ve got a little jungle group [on WhatsApp] so we all talk on there.”
