Josie Gibson was stunned during her latest appearance on This Morning as she was sent a personal video message from a Coronation Street star. The former Big Brother winner turned presenter was back on the ITV daytime programme alongside Phillip Schofield as she continued to fill in for Covid-stricken Holly Willoughby.
And if viewers also tuned in to see Josie on the show last week, they may remember that she revealed she had a crush on a certain soap star - Kevin Webster, aka actor Michael Le Vell.
During last Monday's episode of This Morning the pair were joined by Sharon Marshall for her weekly soap gossip slot and speaking about Corrie, Sharon was discussing Kevin's return to the cobbles after he discovered Abi had given birth. Ahead of speaking about the emotional scenes on the ITV soap, a picture of Kevin, aka actor Michael Le Vell, flashed up on the small screen between Sharon and hosts Josie and Phillip. Getting distracted by the picture of the soap character in his overalls, Sharon said, “Look at Kev, all handsome in his overalls” to which Josie smiled and said: "I reckon he’s like a fine red wine. He gets better with age."
Phillip then turned to Josie and asked: "Would you like us to print that out for you?" and Josie who became unusually shy about the whole thing, replied: "Yeah." Then later, after returning from a break, Josie was presented with the picture in the frame by a member of the show's team. "Look what our graphics department has done for you," Phil said as the camera eventually panned from the picture to a giggling Josie ready for the vodka segment of the programme.
"Chris has just rushed in with that... it's Kev," Phillip added. "They've printed out that picture you said 'looked like a fine wine'. They've printed it out for you."
"Fine red wine... Kevin Webster gets better with age so thank you very much for that, I will treasure that," Josie replied. "That’s going straight on my stair hallway, along with my other fine red wines."
And it turns out the comments have got back to Michael, who plays mechanic Kevin, and he had a message for Josie on Monday's show. Phillip reminded Josie of her comments from last week before adding: "She doesn't know anything about this, he's actually been in touch."
A shocked Josie put her hands in front of her mouth then asked: "He's not here is he?" to which Phillip replied: "No he's not here. "You went big on that one, didn't you? No, he wanted to say this..." Michael then popped up on screen from the soap's Salford-based set in his character's overalls as he addressed her and said: "Hi Josie. It's Michael Le Vell. I saw your little 'fine wine' comment on This Morning the other day. Someone sent it me, and you know what?
"Every now and again in the pub, I just play it to the lads to wind them up. But thanks a lot for that! And maybe one day we'll meet up in person in the studio! Thanks again and have a wonderful day."
As they returned to the studio, Josie looked a bit flushed as she gave a wave to the camera. "Oh, he's so handsome," she remarked. "He's so handsome! Yeah, he's lovely. Thanks for that!
"I didn't know anything about that! Wow, that was amazing. Um, yeah. He's definitely a fine red wine, isn't he?"
And This Morning viewers loved it too.
