Joshua Zirkzee 'wants to LEAVE' Manchester United in January

Joshua Zirkzee has made the decision to leave Manchester United in January and wants to return to the Serie A, according to reports in Italy.

Joshua Zirkzee Wants Reunion With Former Boss Thiago Motta At Juventus

The 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact since completing his £36 million move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Zirkzee did come off the bench to score on his Premier League debut for Manchester United against Fulham.

But since then, the Dutch striker has struggled. He was hooked at half-time in United’s 3-0 defeat by Tottenham and now looks destined for a quick exit.

According to Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee wants to be reunited with former boss Thiago Motta at Juventus. Zirkzee enjoyed a brilliant campaign at Balogna last season under Motta. They qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history and earned Zirkzee a move to England.

The report claims Zirkzee now wants to leave Old Trafford and make a return to Italy.

Ruben Amorim Singled Out Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirzkee came off the bench to play in the final 20 minutes of Ruben Amorim‘s first game in charge of United against Ipswich.

Since then, he was an unused substitute for United’s 3-2 win over Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.

Amorim singled out the Netherlands international for not working hard enough during attacking phases of play.

“I think that [decision-making] is a concern, you don’t need to coach them at this level,” Amorim told Sky Sports.

Juventus Want Joshua Zirkzee On Loan

The report from Gazzetta dello Sport claims Juventus are looking to bring Zirkzee in on an initial loan when the January window opens. Motta reportedly is eyeing up moves for Zirkzee or Lewis Ferguson as alternatives for Dusan Vlahobic.

However, it remains to be seen if such a move will go ahead given United’s lack of options up top.

It is still early days in Amorim’s tenure and with a packed football schedule, Zirkzee may be presented with more opportunities to impress.
