Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi has said that the allegations made by civil contractors association about 40% commission being sought by officials to get their bills cleared are baseless.

Speaking to presspersons in Dharwad on Tuesday, Mr. Joshi said that although allegations about 40% commission have been made, no proof has been provided so far. “If they have proof and the allegations are true, then the party and the government will not tolerate it,” he said.

Replying to a query on contractor Santosh Patil’s death and his (Santosh Patil’s) allegations against RDPR Minister j K.S. Eshwarappa, Mr. Joshi said that he did not know why Santosh Patil committed suicide. “It is an unfortunate incident and a detailed probe by the police will reveal the truth,” he said.

Earlier, the Union Minister performed bhoomi puja for various development works in the localities of Saidapur, Kamalapur and Malapur of Dharwad.
