Josh Kroenke seen at Stamford Bridge amid Arsenal transfer talk and Premier League title bid

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are beginning to look like serious Premier League title contenders, and if they hadn't convinced the majority of their title bid already, their dominating London derby win over Chelsea will certainly change the views of many. Gabriel Magalhaes scored the only goal of the game after he converted Bukayo Saka's enticing corner mid-way through the second half.

For the most part, Arsenal dominated proceedings in west London, with Chelsea rarely troubling Aaron Ramsdale's goal as the Gunners secured their 10th clean sheet in all competitions so far this season

The lack of action for Ramsdale, while being somewhat down to the Blues toothless attack, was akso helped by the performances of the Arsenal back four, who all more than played their part, with William Saliba particularly impressive.

Oleksandr Zinchenko also slotted straight back in flawlessly after a month out with a calf injury, with Arteta also complimentary of his defensive partnership.

Speaking on Gabriel and Saliba, he said: "I think that pair again they were outstanding both of them. That’s why we sustained it really well, especially when we had to defend open spaces, which is very difficult, again in this place, to do what we demand they do, but I think they did it really well."

The Spaniard was also asked about the recent displays of Ben White, who has particularly impressive given he is playing out of position.

"I am really happy with him. He is playing in different positions. I think he is acclimating himself in a great way to that full-back position. His understanding with the players around him is top and I really like him. He always wants to be there, he trains every single day, he plays under any circumstances and I love the boy."

Arsenal continue to look complete all over the pitch and the claims of a Premier League title challenge are now starting to become serious and with important executives in attendance, it would have perhaps shown just how important the Gunners moves are in the January transfer window if they are to sustain their title bid, especially given the quality in depth Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has at his disposal.

Seen heading down the tunnel towards the Arsenal dressing room were Tim Lewis and Josh Kroenke. The latter's appearance follows his presence in the stands for Thursday night's Europa League win over FC Zurich.

Arsenal have been linked with a number of top names across the footballing world recently, including Palmeiras midfielder Danilo and Shaktar Donetsk forward Mykhailo Mudryk.

Having watched another top Arsenal performance, Kroenke is likely to be fully aware of Arsenal's chances of being firmly in the conversation come May 2023 and that the need for more squad depth in January is paramount to avoid any fatigue setting in.
