Josh Duhamel came within hours of missing his own wedding after injuring his back in a bizarre manner the night before.
The actor, 49, tied the knot with Audra Mari, 28, in North Dakota on Saturday in an intimate ceremony. But the day was almost a disaster when a dance injury the night prior to saying 'I Do' left Josh needing a trip to the emergency room.
Audra told Vogue Australia how the Safe Haven star had been knocking out the shapes on a party bus as he celebrated his last night as a 'single man' when he jarred his back. The discomfort became too much to handle in the moments prior to his special occasion, so he had to take a trip to see the doctors.
There, it was discovered he had slipped a disc in his back, but his new wife - the former Miss World America - has revealed he pushed through the pain with the help of a cortisone shot.
Determined to not let the pain get in the way of the celebrations, Josh and Audra were even able to perform their first dance to Buy Dirt by Jordan Davis. Josh is also said to have jumped on stage to give a little play out with the band.
The pair were first romantically linked in public in October 2019. The dad-of-one popped the question around two years later when he asked Audra to be his wife in a sweet beach location this January.
At the time, he posted a pic on Instagram of the pair standing on the sand while he held a note that asked: "Audra Diane Mari, Will You Marry Me?"
He captioned the post "It's on!"
On Wednesday, Josh again took to the social media platform to share a snap of the happy couple after exchanging their vows. The actor looked dapper in his dinner suit with white bow tie, while his new wife looked a million dollars in an elegant white dress with a huge train and a veil to match.
He captioned the post: "What an amazing day. I feel so lucky to have so many great friends, a supporting family, and now a wife that makes it all that much better. I love you babe @audramari."
It was met with an influx of well wishes from stars and fans alike. Among the comments was Michael Bay, who simply wrote: "Congrats buddy!!!!"
