The Arizona Cardinals got one win while Josh Dobbs was their starting quarterback. Now on the Minnesota Vikings following a trade from the Cardinals, he led Minnesota to a win in relief, beating the Atlanta Falcons 31-28.
Starter Jaren Hall left the game with a concussion, leading to Dobbs having to enter the game. He was sacked for a safety but then rallied the Vikings to a win.
Dobbs completed 20-of-30 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on seven attempts. He also completed a pass on a two-point conversion.
Trailing 21-13, Dobbs ran 18 yards for a touchdown and then connected with Trishton Jackson for a two-point conversion to tie the game 21-21.
After the Falcons scored a touchdown to go ahead 28-24 with 2:08 to go, Dobbs led the Vikings on an 11-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a six-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Powell with 22 seconds remaining.
The Cardinals sent Dobbs and a seventh-round pick to Minnesota for a sixth-round pick. If Dobbs plays enough for the Vikings the rest of the season, the seventh-rounder will return to Arizona.
