Josh Campbell 'disappointed' with Celtic result as he labels Hibs clash with Hearts as 'massive'

Josh Campbell has expressed his disappointment at Hibs' defeat to Celtic as he labelled the derby showdown with Hearts as 'massive'.

The Easter Road men lost out 4-0 on their own patch to Ange Postecoglou's champions with Aaron Mooy grabbing his first two goals for the club along with a stunner from Daizen Maeda and a strike from Kyogo Furuhashi. Lee Johnson's men started the game brightly and at a fast pace but couldn't make that early pressure count under the lights in Leith.

Paul Hanlon also hit the post at 2-0 just before the interval but it wasn't to be for the capital club with Celtic upping the ante after finding that 'killer' first goal. The games come thick and fast for the Hibees with an Edinburgh derby showdown with Robbie Neilson's men at Tynecastle next week. It's a chance to quickly put behind the heavy loss to the Hoops.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Campbell said: “I’m disappointed. We started the game well and if we score in that first 10-15 minutes then it could’ve been a different story. Paul hit the post just before half-time and we went in 2-0 down.

“Celtic play at a high intensity, and I think the shock of us coming out the traps rattled them a little bit, but we needed to keep that intensity for the whole of the first half, then it could’ve been a different story.

“The first goal was a killer blow and it was hard coming back from that.”

On the derby meeting with Hearts, he added: “We’ve got a game coming round quickly, the derby, it’s a massive game for us, and we’re all looking forward to it.”
