The Buffalo Bills picked up a key win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night, keeping pace in the AFC playoff race with a 24-22 victory. As usual, quarterback Josh Allen led the way, accounting for three touchdowns and breaking NFL two records in the process.
After rushing for two touchdowns and throwing a TD pass, Allen now has accounted for 40 total touchdowns on the season, making him the first player in NFL history to do so in four consecutive seasons. Additionally, it was the 11th game this season in which he’s accounted for a rushing touchdown and a TD pass, which is also a new NFL record.

The 27-year-old Allen is one of the best dual-threat quarterbacks in the league, and he’s bolstered that status this year with 13 rushing touchdowns in 15 games.
If Allen scores one more rushing touchdown, he will tie Cam Newton for most rushing touchdowns in a single season by a quarterback. He’s not alone in that pursuit, though, as Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts already has tied that record with 14 this year, and Hurts has three more games to boost that total.
The Bills are now 9–6 on the season and control their own destiny in the playoff chase, and Allen is a big reason why. Buffalo plays host to the New England Patriots on Dec. 31 at 1 p.m. ET.
