Jorginho's agent delivers update on player's Arsenal future amid transfer claim

The agent of Jorginho has delivered an update on the Arsenal midfielder's future.

After missing out on Brighton's Moises Caicedo, the Gunners decided to turn their attention to the Italian international during the January transfer window. Eventually, the 31-year-old completed a £12million move from Premier League rivals Chelsea, signing for an initial 18 months, with the club possessing the option to extend the deal by a further 12.

Now, Jorginho's agent Joao Santo has refused to rule out another move for the former Napoli man, claiming that the player could go anywhere. Speaking on Radio Crc's show Si Gonfia la Rete, via Napoli Magazine, Santos said: "Jorginho can win the Premier League with Arsenal, there are 10 games left which will be 10 finals. It has been years since he has won the championship so there is great motivation.

"Football is dynamic, when Arsenal took him the Italian teams didn't need a player like Jorginho. With his characteristics and his very intelligent football, he can go anywhere." Since arriving at the Emirates Stadium, Jorginho has played second fiddle to first-choice holding midfielder Thomas Partey, starting four Premier League games when the Ghana international was out with a thigh injury.

Jorginho could face further competition for places next season as Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his midfield at the end of the season, with West Ham United captain Declan Rice the Spaniard's priority for the summer window, football.london understands.

Speaking after the Hammers' loss at the Emirates in December 2022, Rice said: "They are a top team you can see they are coached incredibly well, have a lot of attacking talent, a young squad and they can go all the way for sure.

"We tried as hard as we could to stop them, we came up short. You can’t sustain that for 90 minutes against a team like Arsenal, it’s the same against City. With their free-flowing football they managed to get through."
