Jorginho aims hilariously sly dig at Enzo Fernandez with cryptic message after Arsenal win

Jorginho has aimed a cheeky jibe at Enzo Fernandez following Arsenal's 3-1 win over Chelsea. The 30-year-old played a pivotal role in the Gunners' win at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night, dominating the Blues' midfield alongside Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka.

The Argentina international, who became the most expensive player in Premier League history after joining Chelsea in January, struggled to show any sign of his eye-watering price tag against Arsenal, with Jorginho dictating the tie. Ironically, the Italy international was replaced by Fernandez after the north Londoners completed a deadline day switch.

After Mikel Arteta's side recorded their third successive win over Chelsea, Jorginho marked the London derby with a post to his Instagram story. The midfielder's choice of photograph has sent Arsenal fans into a frenzy, with Fernandez pictured on the floor following a collision.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Arteta admitted that he was 'really pleased' with his side's performance. He said: "Really pleased with the first 60 minutes.

"I think the way we approached the game, how we started, determination, we showed energy. Everything was fluid, with a lot of movement, we played forward, we were really aggressive, scored some great goals and really connected with our supporters and created an atmosphere that we wanted.

"That's where I think we won the game. After 60 minutes I think we should have scored four or five, we didn't do that and then obviously after conceding the goal we still had a long period to play that we should have managed the game a little bit better."

Then, when quizzed on Jorginho's display, Arteta added: "What he brings every single day in training: leadership, intelligence, capacity to control the game, the way he communicates with people, the quality that he brings, the level of attention, the experience because he’s been in many situations like these before. That’s just the way he plays."

Jorginho has featured ten times for Arsenal since arriving in January, providing cover for Thomas Partey. The Italian has done well in north London despite having overseen his new club's Premier League title hopes wash away – but it's not over yet...
