Hollyoaks star Jorgie Porter has had an emotional journey in the last year after miscarrying quadruplets.
She recently delighted friends and fans with a pregnancy announcement online.
The Theresa McQueen actress, 34, shared the amazing news on her Instagram page, with a heartwarming TikTok video.
She posted a snap of the baby scan on her social media, revealing she and her fiance Ollie Piotrowski are thrilled to become new parents.
"Hopeful beginnings…" she captioned the post.
Jorgie's pals immediately took to the comment section to congratulate her on the amazing news.
Chelsee Healey wrote: "Crying," with a line of emotional emojis and hearts.
Presenter Ashley James added: "Ahhhh I'm so so happy for you my love."
The incredible news comes after the star lost her four babies last year.
She told Fabulous magazine in her first interview after her and her fiancé's loss: "If we can get through this, we can get through anything."
Since then, she has opened up about her grief journey in talk shows and magazines.
Finding out about the pregnancy
Appearing on Loose Women in March, Jorgie spoke about finding out that they were having quadruplets in the first place.
"Obviously we were happy when we got the early scan, the doctor was a bit unsure about what to tell us," she said.
"They said that we can see three sacks... then we were told that there were four sacks."
Once they realised that they were having quadruplets, Ollie revealed he "fell over".
"It was an extreme circumstance," Jorgie added, saying that because she was having a high-risk pregnancy that she would go for routine scans.
"On the fifth or sixth scan, she said you've had a miscarriage."
Surgery
After finding out she had miscarried, she was told that she could either have surgery or miscarry naturally.
"We went with the route of surgery because I didn't want to witness anything," she explained on Loose Women. "They said that there could have been a lot of blood loss."
'I felt really helpless," Ollie said. "I was sad... it was thrown on us that it was a miscarriage... as a man, [i felt] really helpless.
"As soon as it happened, I cried and [Jorgie] stayed strong, then a week later [Jorgie] cried and I had to stay strong."
Optimism after the miscarriage
Despite her and her fiancé's heartbreak, they tried to stay optimistic about having children in the future.
She told Closer: "Losing the quads was so sad and painful but it absolutely cemented the feeling that I want to be a mum.
"There’s no news to share as yet but let’s just say we’re trying – a lot!"
In February, the actress also explained that she was taking extra steps to help her get pregnant.
She said: "I’m taking fertility supplements, including folic acid, cutting down on alcohol and I’m mindful about not getting too stressed.
"I keep thinking, ‘I’ve been pregnant before, so it’s possible I’ll fall pregnant again’."

Struggles with opening up
When it first happened, the actress struggled with opening up about the incident.
Speaking on her podcast Loose Lips, she told co-host Sharon Carpenter about the toll it took on her mental health.
"Nobody really tells you about miscarriage," she said.
"It’s not taught at schools. We’re finding these things out in magazines and on [social media platforms].
"When you actually live it yourself, your mind goes through so many things and questions."
She added that she 'couldn't find' anyone who miscarried four babies or anyone to speak to in general.
Engagement after loss
A couple of weeks after she confirmed she suffered the miscarriage, Jorgie had some heartwarming news to share with fans.
She took to Instagram in December to announce her engagement, sharing a sweet snap with businessman Ollie which showcased her huge new rock.
Ollie is seen giving his new wife-to-be a kiss on the cheek as she smiled at the camera and held up her new piece of jewellery.
She simply captioned the post: "OMG."
Friends and fans of the pair quickly flocked to the post to offer congratulatory messages.
