Even with Jordan Poole now a member of the Wizards, it doesn’t appear that the drama surrounding him and former Warriors teammate Draymond Green is likely to quiet down anytime soon. After Poole was traded, many analysts and fans were hoping to hear the details of what led to Green punching his former teammate prior to last season, which has added more fuel to the fire.
After Green appeared on the Pat Bev Pod and sounded off on the topic while hinting at having a reason for the altercation that built up over time, a surprising name emerged in response—Poole’s dad.
In a NSFW response, the father of Washington’s new guard unloaded on Green while wrapping up his response by telling the Warriors star that they can “meet anytime” he wants.
"I’m stand on this that’s is some bs. Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. He is a soft as b---- and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want," Poole's father tweeted.
The comment was posted directly in response to what Green said on the podcast:
"I don't just hit people. Dialogue, of course, happens over time. And you usually aren't just triggered by something that fast to that degree. This is a team, nobody on my team is triggering me in an instant. We know stuff that you don't say amongst men, we know things that you have to stand on," Green said.
While the sports world would love to know exactly what happened between Poole and Green that led to the punch, it doesn't appear that either player is going to crack at this point.
The aftermath of the punch came following the season, as the Warriors traded Poole, Patrick Baldwin Jr. and Ryan Rollins for Chris Paul. While addressing the deal, owner Joe Lacob stated the team "had to change something" following last season, as Madeline Kenney of The Mercury News revealed.
