Jordan Henderson has been pictured wearing an England shirt sporting Lionesses captain Leah Williamson's name as he returned to pre-season training with Liverpool.
The Reds skipper wasn't included in Gareth Southgate's squad for their post-season UEFA Nations League matches. The former Sunderland youngster was integral for Jurgen Klopp's side as they embarked upon a mammoth season where they came close to securing a famous quadruple - but were forced to settle for a domestic cup double.
Williamson, who plays her club football for Arsenal, was installed as the captain of Sarina Wiegman's side after Steph Houghton wasn't selected for the Euro 2022 squad after failing to squeeze her way into the plans of the head coach. The Manchester City defender had been out since January after suffering an Achilles injury.

Henderson reported for Liverpool duty wearing the shirt with 'Williamson 8' on the back. The 32-year-old has been vocal in his support of England ahead of their home tournament, he posted on Instagram: "Supporting the Lionesses all the way! You’ve never seen an icon like @leahwilliamsonn"
He recently featured in an advertisement for Hope United as they look to combat sexist hate online as the stars of the Women's footballing world take centre stage this summer. West Ham's Declan Rice and Michail Antonio also feature.
The 25-year-old led England out at Old Trafford as they kicked off the tournament with a win. Beth Mead's first-half strike was the difference between the Lionesses and Austria.
