Jordan Gill recovered from being dumped on the canvas head-first to win the European featherweight title with a stunning bell-beating knockout.
Gill was challenging champion Karim Guerfi in London on Sunday night but was struggling as the fight reached the latter stages.
He was dropped in the seventh round and then seconds later was wrestled to the ground, hitting the canvas with his head.
He appeared dazed and was then backed up the eighth round with a stoppage defeat seemingly inevitable.
But Gill rallied in stunning fashion in the ninth session, landing a right to Guerfi's head to leave the Frenchman out cold with just two seconds until the bell.
The 27-year-old, who has endured a frustrating few years through injury, was taken to see the doctor immediately after the result was confirmed.
"That was one of the most stunning things I've ever seen," said promoter Eddie Hearn.
"I felt like the fight should probably have been stopped; he (Gill) couldn't stand up, he has a perforated ear drum and his balance was shot.
"He was getting beat up but looking back now, it shouldn't have been stopped but there are many refs or cornermen who [would have stopped it].
"It was like something out of a Rocky movie when they both went over at the same time.
"At the end of the day, it's not human what Jordan Gill did there. He couldn't stand up, his ear drum was perforated, he has a haematoma..."

Earlier in the night, Anthony Fowler returned to winning ways following his defeat by Liam Smith last year.
Liverpool's Fowler was taken the 10-round distance by Lukasz Maciec but was a handsome winner on all three judges' scorecards.
Campbell Hatton extended his unbeaten record to 6-0 with a final-round stoppage of Joe Ducker while there were debut wins for Tokyo Olympians Galal Yafai and Cheavon Clarke.
Heavyweight Fabio Wardley earned his 13th win with a second-round stoppage of Daniel Martz.
