The Jordanian Civil Aviation Regulatory Authority announced on Saturday that the country's airspace will be temporarily closed to all incoming, departing, and transiting aircraft, as reported by state news agency Petra. This decision comes as neighboring Israel remains on high alert for a potential Iranian strike.
The closure of Jordanian airspace was set to begin at 11:00 pm local time and will last for several hours. The authority stated that the closure will be continuously updated and reviewed based on ongoing developments.
In a statement, the authority emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of civil aviation within Jordanian airspace. The decision to close the airspace followed a comprehensive assessment of risks in line with international standards.
