Jonjo Shelvey's wife Daisy once toured with Beyonce in group that caused X Factor controversy

Jonjo Shelvey's wife Daisy once toured with Beyonce, in a girl group managed by the globally famous star's dad, Matthew Knowles.

While a few of Newcastle United's new WAGs are starting to spark plenty of interest, none of them have opened for the music megastar.

But that's exactly what Daisy did when she was a member of band From Above.

While it's rather well known that Daisy was once a member of S Club Juniors, the group formed as spin-off of S Club 7, who scored three consecutive number 2 hits with One Step Closer, Automatic High and New Direction backl in 2002, it's not quite as well documented that she was in another group after the Juniors called it a day.

While her former S Club Juniors bandmates Frankie Sandford and Rochelle Wiseman joined The Saturdays in 2008 and went onto land a string of charts hits in the UK, Daisy, then Daisy Evans, was discovered by Beyonce's father Matthew at a London showcase that same year.

She and fellow group members Monique Robert, Ashley Shaw and Chelsey Reynolds and Seyi Joshua were promptly signed to Matthew's label Music World Music, who said at the time that they "reminded him of Destiny's Child."

Unfortunately for From Above, they failed to match the success of Beyonce's famous group, despite the fact they had their own MTV show Breaking From Above.

Prior to the launch of their TV show, they did get to support Beyonce on the UK dates of her I Am tour in 2009, including shows in Newcastle, before releasing an album, also called Breaking From Above.

Despite the fact they'd been managed by Beyonce's dad and released an album, the group tried out alongside unsigned hopefuls on The X Factor in 2012 and made it as far as Boot Camp.

However, their appearance on the show sparked controversy, given the opportunities they'd already had

Speaking during auditions, another unimpressed contestant told The Sun: "It’s disgusting. The X Factor is supposed to be about discovering raw, new talent."

Now Daisy is a successful makeup artist, regularly showcasing her work on Instagram.
