According to Reuters, Reynolds was named secretary of state for business, innovation, science and trade after losing his position as business minister to Peter Kyle in a reshuffle under former Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

She was also found guilty of breaching the ministerial code of conduct. Rayner also posted on X expressing her delight in aaccepting the new position in Burnham's cabinet.
