Rangers remain in the hunt for Jonathan Panzo but are still to seal a deal.
Record Sport broke the story that the Nottingham Forest defender was one of Michael Beale’s top summer targets. It has been claimed that a deal is close to being sealed but sources on all sides are adamant that is not the case. Beale is a fan and Panzo is willing to move north if the deal is right and, while Rangers know the wages and fee they will need to hit, they have still to push through the deal.
It has been the same situation for more than 10 days. There remains English and German interest in the former Chelsea youngster and they are also in talks over a deal. Panzo is a player Beale knows from their time together at Chelsea and the Ibrox men also hold an advantage that their former sporting director, Ross Wilson, is now the director of football at Forest, which should make them that little bit easier to deal with.
