Jonas Eidevall has labelled the WSL fixture list as "very odd" with his Arsenal team facing Man Utd only days before a huge Champions League semi-final.
The Gunners travel to United on Wednesday night knowing a win would send them level on points with their opponents at the top of the table, in a potentially decisive title clash. But Eideval l also has to prepare his team for crunch meeting with German side Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon in the first leg of their last four meeting.
WSL rivals Chelsea are also in European action this weekend, facing Barcelona at Stamford Bridge in their semi-final but aren't in domestic action across the midweek. Chelsea did have an outstanding WSL game to be rearranged for before the end of the season, at home to Liverpool, but that is instead set for May 3.
"It's like you want one of the teams to have a better chance to succeed than the other," said Eidevall.
"I find it very odd that we are the only team of the two English teams that are forced to play before our semi-final. I can't see the reasons for it. It's something we have to look into after, for the appropriate time, because I can't see the logic.
We can only focus on what we do have and now this is the schedule we have, that we need to go to Manchester and play well there, and we need to go to Wolfsburg.
“But of course, it's preference to have, like the other team does, no games at all, to train and to prepare for the Champions League."
In addition, Eidevall has selection issues to resolve for the clash with United, which could define Arsenal's title challenge. Captain Kim Little, Caitlin Foord and Lina Hurtig will all be missing, with Katie McCabe suspended.
Little is out for the rest of the season, but Eidevall is confident his team can respond strongly to another injury setback, having lost Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema to injury.
"We need to show adaptability, it is an opportunity for players to step up and show their qualities," he added. "It is testament to the work we do to make sure players are ready for when opportunities present themselves.
"Not only between games but during games, this group of players have responded very, very well in tough situations and tough moments.
"We stick together, we keep to the plan, we believe in the way we play and that’s going to be important, maybe even more important, at the end of this season."
