Jon Rahm snaps at TV crew and smashes microphone with club at PGA Championship

Reigning Masters champion and world number one Jon Rahm 's tough weekend was summed up as he smashed a microphone with his club.

The Spaniard has had a tough weekend at the US PGA Championship, being way down on the leaderboard and with him venting his frustration on numerous occasions. It's been tough conditions to play through at the Oak Hill East Course in upstate New York, with Brooks Koepka currently leading.

With Rahm not playing up to his extremely high standards, he became noticeably frustrated after his tee shot missed the par-3 fifth green before his chip shot, which looked to be a shank, went wayward.

As he walked up on to the green, after seeing his ball run away from the hole, Rahm smashed a microphone in his way with his club and continued to walk past it.

Rahm also grew increasingly frustrated with the camera crews over the course of the weekend. After hitting a particularly wild drive and while searching for his ball he snapped: "Stop aiming at my face when I’m mad, it’s all you guys do."

The camera's would continue to follow Rahm, who only became more annoyed after bogeying the next three holes.

On the 11th, a 245-yard par three, Rahm missed the green once again and could be heard saying: "Great hole, PGA great f****** hole."

Rahm is currently tied for 42nd place while being six-over par on the course - and just days ago he told the media that he enjoys what Oak Hill Country Club has to offer.

On Thursday, he said: "I would say whoever did the redo has done a good job. It's challenging, but it's one of those where if you hit the shots you're supposed to hit, put it in the fairway, go to the centre of the green, nothing crazy should be happening. But it's still challenging. I like it. Fun golf course. Difficult but fun."

Meanwhile, two-time winner Koepka will look to continue his exceptional play at the course. He is six-under par heading into the final day - being chased by Viktor Hovland, Corey Connors and Bryson DeChambeau.
