Jon Heyman’s ‘Oasres’ typo inspired another great meme around the MLB trade deadline

When you write for a living, typos are inevitable — especially in a fast-paced environment like breaking news. But at this point, MLB Network and New York Post baseball reporter Jon Heyman has to be in on the joke.

His typos have been too good.

This past December, Heyman reported that then-free agent Yankees slugger Aaron Judge appeared to be heading to the San Francisco Giants. But instead of spelling “Aaron” correctly, Heyman’s initial tweet had the player’s name as “Arson Judge.” That, of course, had MLB fans turning the tweet into a meme, and it was only made better when Judge remained with the Yankees.

Ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline, Heyman tried to report on the Padres’ trade to acquire Ji Man Choi and Rich Hill. He just didn’t call the team the Padres. Who are the Oasres?

Again, typos happen. But Heyman’s typos have been next level.

You can’t blame fans for making plenty of jokes about the now-deleted tweet. The Oasres are looking like buyers this deadline — that’s for sure!

This was how Twitter reacted
