Joka-Taratala metro services to double from May 1

KOLKATA: Good News for the Metro commuters! Now more Metro services are going to run on Joka-Taratala route( Purple Line).

As commuters have been demanding more services on this route, a detailed survey has been conducted to study the pattern of footfalls on this stretch. Metro officials also interacted with the students and teachers as well as office goers of this area to ascertain the required number of daily services at this moment. Metro General Manager, P. Uday Kumar Reddy after analysing all the parameters and data gathered has decided to increase the number of daily services on Purple Line for the benefit of the people of Behala and adjoining areas.

From May 1(Monday) Metro Railway is going to double its number of daily services on Purple Line within four months of commencement of services on that stretch. From that day, 24 daily services (12 UP + 12 DN) instead of 12 services will be run in between Joka and Taratala from Monday to Friday following "One Train Only System".
