In a twist that feels both utterly bizarre and completely on-brand, JoJo Siwa is reportedly in talks to represent Poland at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
Yes, you read that right. The colourful pop sensation known for her oversized bows and “inventing gay pop” might just be strutting her stuff on the Eurovision stage in Basel, Switzerland.
Let’s break down this glitter-filled chaos.
JoJo Siwa has confirmed she’s in talks for Eurovision
JoJo took to her TikTok to share the news, “Somebody asked if I was going to do it [perform the song “Yesterday’s Tomorrow’s Today”] for Eurovision, and I initially jokingly replied to the comment, saying ‘yes,’ but now it’s actually become a real conversation and Eurovision’s into it.”
She went on to explain that discussions are happening with the Polish representatives because, as she put it, “each country essentially decides who goes to Eurovision to represent that country”.
Although JoJo is known for trolling the internet (that chaotic “Karma” dance is seared into my brain), this news actually seems legit, with fans noticing the official Eurovison Instagram account follows the singer.
How is JoJo Siwa connected to Poland?
The pop star’s song “Yesterday’s Tomorrow’s Today” from her recent album Guilty Pleasure has been taking the Polish TikTok scene by storm. According to JoJo, “the song is on Spotify charts over [in Poland]”.
The track’s “retro Polish disco vibes” have caught the attention of fans, who have been flooding JoJo’s social media with comments urging her to represent Poland at Eurovision 2025.
Turns out the former Dance Moms cast member actually has Polish lineage on her father’s side, with the star claiming she’s “over 50 per cent Polish”.
JoJo has really leaned into her Polish roots and newfound fanbase by posting videos of her hit song “Karma” in Polish and recently visiting the country to “go and have fun and be in the environment”.
Is Jojo Siwa actually allowed to compete in Eurovision?
Right now there is no citizenship or residency requirement rule for anybody competing in Eurovision. In fact, in 2008 Poland was represented by American singer (with Polish descent) at the coveted singing competition — Tamara Gee (formerly Isis Gee).
But while JoJo’s Polish roots give her a fighting chance, the logistics of her participation are still up in the air.
She mentioned in her TikTok that she has another project scheduled around the same time as Eurovision, but she remains optimistic, saying, “If Poland wants me to represent, I will be there! I will make it happen, 1000 per cent!”
However, there’s a catch. The song she might perform can’t be one that’s already been released before September 1 2024. So while we won’t be hearing “Karma” at Eurovision, JoJo has teased that she’s cooking up something original for the contest.
“I did come up with an idea for a song which I 100 per cent would do. I can’t wait,” she said in a TikTok.
JoJo posted a video saying that she’s had “the best meeting in Poland” and another saying that she got “the best news” so things are looking up!
As we wait for the official confirmation from Eurovision, one thing is clear: JoJo Siwa will continue to up her game and shock us at every level with her music career.
Who knows? She might just bring a whole new level of chaos to the contest, and honestly I’m here for it!
