Johnny Vegas spotted at Edinburgh pub as comedian hops behind the bar

An Edinburgh bar was treated to a visit from British comedian Johnny Vegas this week after the star popped in for a pint.

The Brass Monkey pub in Leith took to social media to share their excitement after the 51-year-old had stopped by for a few drinks on Saturday.

Known for his stand up performances and TV appearances in the likes of Benidorm and The Brothers Grimsby, Johnny appeared to have been welcomed by staff and customers.

Looking like he was enjoying himself, the Brass Monkey had shared an image of the visit, with the comedian lending a hand behind the bar.

Getting to work pouring a pint of Guinness, it seemed as if Vegas knew all of the tricks of the trade to ensure he was serving up a top-quality drink.

Posting the snap on social media, staff joked: "Guinness sent their guy to check we were pouring right."

Quickly reacting to the surprise picture, customers were pleased to see the star frequenting their local watering hole.

One said: "Awesome Johnny! Enjoy"

Another replied "Bet it’s the perfect pint" while a third called the comedian a "legend."

The visit is not Vegas' first time in Edinburgh, with the star a huge staple of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in years gone by, seeing hundreds of fans attend his shows.
