Johnny Sexton got to rub shoulders with another sporting titan earlier today as he shared a few photos he took with NBA megastar Steph Curry.
The pair were indeed 'shoulder to shoulder' as they linked up in an IRFU gym.
Despite playing vastly different sports, you'd imagine they could relate on a lot of levels as they are both still star playmakers who are the main focus of opponents' defensive game plans despite now being well into their 30s.
The Golden State Warriors point guard, widely accepted as the greatest shooter in basketball history, is coming off another fantastic season where he really added to his already brimming legacy as one of the all-time greats.
While the California outfit endured a barren spell in the wake of Kevin Durant's departure as a free agent, they successfully retooled the roster over the last few years which culminated in an unlikely 4th NBA title for Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Co.
As well as his on-court exploits, Curry is also one of the most well-respected sports figures in American sports as he is a model professional who has also proven himself as a great leader when times get tough.
And it was these intangible qualities Sexton was keen to emphasize in what was a glowing Instagram post after meeting 'Chef Curry'.
He said: "What a way to start a Monday morning…..absolute legend in the sporting world but one of the most humble people I have ever met."
The 34-year-old's arrival to Ireland was first noted by stunned onlookers at Dalkey cafe The Corner Note as he posed for photos with staff and customers alike.
While Curry continues to enjoy his off-season, Sexton and Leinster get their new season underway on Saturday with a trip to face Zebre in the URC.
