Johnny McDaid and Courteney Cox may have been dating for eight years, but the Snow Patrol singer claims she still doesn't understand a word he say.
The 45-year-old musician from Northern Ireland has joked that his American actress belle, 57, hasn't got a clue what he is saying most of the time as he opened up on the tough parts of their relationship.
He lightheartedly told MailOnline of the pair's accent struggles before revealing more candidly that they struggled as they were apart during lockdown.
The star, who is currently based in London, now spends his time between the UK and Courteney's home in the US.
But that wasn't possible as lockdown restrictions brought travel to a halt for two years.
Johnny said: "We were apart as many people were apart from their families and loved ones, but we were able to stay as connected as we could and both of us dived into being creative.
"'She made her show and a new product line, and I made Bad Habits with Ed [Sheeran], so we were able to stay really productive even if it was tough being apart - and it was tough, but we don’t have the toughest lives in the world - we’re so lucky.
As the pair look towards the future, Johnny once again made a joke claiming he couldn't afford longtime pal Ed Sheeran to perform at their wedding.
Back in February Courteney and Johnny rocked the red carpet at the BRIT Awards together as they donned matching black ensembles and looked incredibly chic.
The Friends actress and her musician beau have often been seen linked by the arms at swanky events since their relationship began in 2013.
Earlier this month the actress revealed she's looking forward to being part of the new Scream movie, 26 years after first appearing in the horror franchise as Gale Weathers.
The latest instalment of the slasher horror series is due for release in March 2023 and Courteney revealed that Scream fans won’t be disappointed.
“I don’t know about contracts and where things are, but I’ll tell you in the script – it’s a really good one, it’s great,” she told Entertainment Tonight of the movie that got the green light to be produced in February.
