Johnny Depp 'bender' photos shared in court as Amber Heard claims she took them as proof

Photos of Johnny Depp were shared by Amber Heard on Thursday as she told the court that no-one would believe the abuse she allegedly suffered.

Depp, 58, is suing his ex-wife Heard, 36, for more than £38m for defamation.

The case relates to an article she wrote in The Washington Post in 2018, which his lawyers say falsely implies he physically and sexually abused her.

Depp says her domestic abuse claims have harmed his career and reputation.

On Thursday, Heard said in court she started to notice a 'pattern of behaviour changes' from Depp and documented it by taking pictures, the Mirror reported.

Heard said it was around the two-year mark that she began taking photos and 'became loving for clues' that he had begun using again.

During the second day of testimony, Heard told the court: "I only could tell what he was using because I would have to look for clues.

"[He'd] pass out, and get sick and lose control of himself. And then people would pick him up and clean him up and fix it."

She added: "And he wouldn't either remember, or he would deny it, or he would accuse me of saying that this had happened when it didn't. And there was no one to back me up.

"[It was] just him, his employees, and everyone who had been taking care of him versus my word, and so I started to take pictures [to] say: "Look, this is happening."'

"I started to pick up on the clues, so I could figure out what I was dealing with."

She continued: "I understood enough about addiction to know you have to hit rock bottom, have some consequence to get better.

"At the time I was already sensitive, I'd been in the relationship for over a year. I'd already noticed there was this pattern of behaviour changes that would make my life significantly more complicated or peaceful or difficult or wonderful dependent on what he was using.

"I could tell what he was using because I'd have to look for clues. He'd pass out, get sick, lose control of himself. People would pick him up and clean it and fix it."

The actress said Depp wouldn't remember that any of it had happened.

Photos that were shown in court saw the actor asleep on chairs and on the floor during his intoxicated states, Heard claimed.

Another picture taken of Depp saw him reportedly passed out in a lawn chair, which Heard claims was taken after he had a 'bit of sobriety'.

Heard said in the photo - taken in March 2013 - Depp had been on a 'bender'.

She said: "This was after a several day binge of Johnny's. He was, you know, on a drug binge where I saw him not eating, [getting] little to no sleep, and he would just use cocaine and drink all day long.

"That would go for a period of time and then a major blow up and then he'd get sick and pass out and then feel really awful and often including this time would start a period of sobriety after that."

In another photo, he was seen reportedly passed out with his head in a bookshelf, while he allegedly slept on the floor next to a bed in a hotel room.

The former couple were travelling for the Lone Ranger press tour at the time, with his children Lily Rose and Jack Depp.

Heard claimed Depp 'screamed' at her while his kids were in the 'other room' and says he would often call her a 'nagging b**ch' and 'c**t' while travelling to Tokyo.

She also claimed Depp 'shared drugs with my dad,' who she said was 'addicted to the same thing Johnny was'.

During her testimony, Heard claimed Depp 'hated' actor James Franco and he accused her of having an affair with him.

She described Depp saying "You want to tell me how much you liked it, tell me how much you liked it', asking me how James Franco had me in the scene... being really explicit about my body.

She said he "started straight up taunting me... called me a go-getter, called me a sl*t, this is happening with his security and assistants on the plane. I struggled to tell you how embarrassed I was."

Heard says she moved away from Depp "slowly" several times.

"He sits down next to me at one point and he slapped my face," she told the court, and said a friend was nearby when this happened.

"It didn't hurt my face, I just felt embarrassed. It was the first time anything like that happened in front of somebody," she said.

She described how she got up to move again, and Depp allegedly kicked a swivel chair into her hair and asked "'What are you going to do about it?' I just stared at him... I wanted him to see me. I felt like there was a blackness in his eyes. It didn't feel like him."

She said: "I am walking away slowly, he tells me 'hurry the f**k up', I look at him one more time, I wanted to penetrate the monster and see the man I love. I walk away and feel this boot in my back. He just kicked me in the back.

"I fell to the floor... I felt I was looking at the floor of the plane for a long time. I thought I don't know what to do.

"No one said anything, no one did anything."

She spent the rest of the flight looking out of the window, Heard told the court. She claimed that Depp started "howling like an animal", and then "passed out in the bathroom".
