There's not been many Hollywood relationships that have imploded quite like Amber Heard and Johnny Depp's.
The movie legend is suing his ex-wife in the US in a libel case and this time there will be cameras in court after losing his case against the publishers of The Sun in 2020 in London.
The six-week trial is set to begin this week as the former couple prepare to square off again.
The $100 million defamation case is just the latest in the war between the once smitten pair in one of the most toxic fall-outs the showbiz world has ever witnessed.
Several A-list starts including her ex-boyfriend Elon Musk, actor Paul Bettany and Ellen Barkin are expected to take the witness stand.
Ahead of the case, Amber says she "always maintained a love" for the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
She said: "Hopefully when this case concludes, I can move on and so can Johnny."
It remains to be seen if this is the beginning of the end of the pair's lengthy legal battles.
But how did it come to this and why were the former loved-up pair embroiled in accusations of abuse and infidelity from both directions?

Lust on set
The pair first met on the set of the film The Rum Diary in 2011, but according to Johnny it wasn’t until the film was completed that sparks started to fly.
Smitten Johnny spoke of the "amazing" way in which they fell in love.
"She was in my head, so I tracked her down," he said. "We tracked each other down. Actually, incidentally, it was amazing. It was at the first day of press on The Rum Diary.”
Johnny split from partner of 14 years, and mother of his two children, Vanessa Paradis in June of 2012 and the actor and Amber made their relationship red carpet official later that year.
'Drug-fuelled' wedding
By Christmas 2013, Johnny had popped the question - and little more than a year later, they got hitched.
In February 2015, they got married legally at their home in Los Angeles before the event in the Bahamas saw the pair exchanging vows on a white sandy beach.
But in front of a crowd of just 24 guests, the bride is said to have done her own hair and make-up.
The High Court hearing heard allegations from Amber that their big day went wrong because it was marred by drug use and a fight.
Amber claimed: "He had lost weight and he would disappear into the bathroom for long periods during the wedding. He was even more possessive than usual and he was just not making sense a lot of the time.
"I tried to smile through it and entertain our guests. But I had never felt more lonely in my life."
Johnny admitted there had been drugs present at the wedding.
Dark allegations
Amber claimed in court that the star had "violently" attacked her and in a rage had thrown a mobile phone at her face with "extreme force".
There were also allegations of other incidents of domestic violence as told the court she was "smothered", "slapped" and "suffocated" in the "most violent night" of her relationship.
She said she had endured "excessive emotional, verbal and physical abuse" and "angry, hostile, humiliating and threatening assaults".
Johnny, 58, has always vehemently denied abusing Amber, 35, who he accused of abuse, which she has denied.
In her testimony, she claimed she came back to the house to find "glass everywhere and blood on the walls".
The actor said he severed his finger after Amber threw a bottle of him, something she denied.
In a shocking turn in the trial, Johnny claimed he decided to "resolve our marriage" after discovering a poo in their marital bed. She said the poo must have been done by their dogs, but Depp suspects that it was left there by her or one of her friends.

Johnny has lost his libel case against the newspaper over an article that called him a "wife beater".
Judge Mr Justice Nicol found 12 of the 14 alleged incidents of domestic violence had occurred. The star's lawyer called the ruling "perverse" and said the actor intends to appeal.
Court showdown
They are set to return to court in the coming days and the world is braced for what's ahead.
Johnny launched a defamation lawsuit over her 2018 Washington Post op-ed where she described herself as a domestic abuse victim.
The trial at the Fairfax County courthouse, in Virginia is the latest legal battle.
In an Instagram post, Amber complained that she "continue[s] to pay [the] price... women pay for speaking out against men in power".
But the actress said she hoped they could both move on.
"As you may know, I'll be in Virginia, where I face my ex-husband Johnny Depp in court," she told her four million followers.
"Johnny is suing me for an op-ed I wrote in the Washington Post, in which I recounted my experience of violence and domestic abuse.
"I never named him, rather I wrote about the price women pay for speaking out against men in power. I continue to pay that price, but hopefully when this case concludes, I can move on and so can Johnny.'
"I have always maintained a love for Johnny and it brings me great pain to have to live out the details of our past life together in front of the world."
