Former Premier League defender John Terry has said that his spell as Nottingham Forest was a "great experience" as he made his way in the professional game.
The central defender spent a short time on loan at the City Ground between March and May 2000, making six appearances for the club.
Terry returned to Chelsea and went on to play a total of 713 times for the club over a 17 year period, winning five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, one Europa League and one Champions League.
Reflecting on the early years of his career during a Q&A on his Instagram stories where he was asked if he enjoyed his time at Forest.
“I really did yes,” was the answer.
“Great experience for any young player, met some great people and love Nottingham.”
The former defender retired from playing in 2018, going into coaching with Aston Villa, 18 years after featuring for Forest.
He left Villa in the summer as he looks to take the step into management.
“I’m ready, I’m waiting but there are a lot of things that need to be right,” he said when asked about his managerial plans.
“I’m in no rush, just patiently waiting, if the right one never comes along I’m also comfortable with that.”
Terry was linked with a move to Forest earlier this year amid increasing pressure on then-manager Chris Hughton.
He however distanced himself from the speculation , writing on Instagram; “I just want to distance myself from the Nottingham Forest job, and all the speculation surrounding myself with the job.
“Unfortunately I can’t control the media, but it’s important to know it has nothing to do with me whatsoever.”
