John Murtough described Antony as 'one of the most exciting young talents in European football' after Manchester United confirmed the arrival of the winger on transfer deadline day.
United confirmed that they had finally reached an agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Antony on Tuesday. The club will pay an initial €95m fee to Ajax, while there is potential for it to rise by a further €5m in add-ons. The move remained subject to international clearance and agreement of personal terms but those have now been reached and the signing made official.
Erik ten Hag has been desperate to add a versatile forward to his squad to improve his options in attacking areas and United have managed to secure his No.1 target, with Antony enjoying great success under the manager at Ajax. The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal, with the option of a further 12 months, at Old Trafford and football director Murtough has explained why United moved to sign him.

"Antony is one of the most exciting young talents in European football and has exactly the right profile for the attacking, dynamic team Erik is building," he told United's in-house media.
“We have been especially impressed by his desire to join Manchester United, and to be part of a long-term project to get the club back to the levels of performance we all expect.”
Antony takes United's signings up to five this summer following the arrivals of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen, Lisandro Martinez and Casemiro, while Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka is expected to join on loan before the window closes at 11pm on Thursday.
