Manchester United have officially begun the process of hiring a new permanent manager for the new season.
Red Devils football director John Murtough outlined the club's clear objectives for the new recruit, assuring supporters that "challenging for domestic and European titles" is at the top of United's agenda.
Murtough said in a quarterly club update: "We are now conducting a thorough process for the appointment of a new permanent manager who will take charge this summer, with the objective to get us back to challenging for those domestic and European titles."
Ed Woodward's successor, United chief executive Richard Arnold has also spoken to investors on the conference call this Tuesday.
Arnold encouraged United fans to believe that the club has the ability to produce a "world-class football environment".
The former group managing director at United also revealed that club revenues are up 7.3 per cent on the previous year, which in large is down to fans returning to old Trafford.
He has promised supporters will remain a part of United's decision making going forward.
"Everyone associated with Manchester United should have belief in the opportunities that lie ahead of us, both on the pitch and in the way we engage and serve our fans," said Arnold.
"We have a clear vision and we are implementing a strategy to win with an empowered leadership team to drive that forward.
"We will foster a culture of excellence through a world-class football environment while strengthening the role of fans at the heart of the club and harnessing the power of Manchester United to make a positive impact on people, the environment and society.
"All of this will be supported by a sustainable operating model that ensures the club is strong for the present and secure for the future."
Chief financial officer at United, Cliff Baty, added: "For the second fiscal quarter of 2022, we achieved robust revenue growth of 7.3 per cent despite the postponement of two matches in the quarter due to COVID-19.
"Results reflect the continued strength of our Sponsorship revenues, supported by record-breaking digital fan engagement, in addition to the return of more normalized Matchday operations.
"We look forward with optimism to the remainder of the fiscal year."
