Falkirk have confirmed the appointed of John McGlynn as their new manager.
Record Sport revealed earlier this week the League One side had identified him as their top target to replace Martin Rennie.
And the 60-year-old has signed a two-year deal which will see him take charge of The Bairns until the end of the 2023/34 season.
McGlynn left his post as Raith Rovers boss yesterday after Falkirk made their interest clear and set out a five-year plan to return to the Premiership.
The manager was in talks to renew his contract at Starks Park with Raith making a reported last ditch attempt to keep the manager.
But the Fife side announced yesterday that they had McGlynn has left the club.
Falkirk have been looking for a new boss since Rennie left his post last month.
The club sought an experienced manager as they look to make their way out of League One.
The Bairns believe McGlynn can do a similar job as he did at Raith Rovers, taking them up from League One and turning them into promotion hopefuls in the Championship.
The new boss said: “I’m delighted to be here. It’s been out in the public domain for a little while so it’s not exactly breaking news, but we’re delighted to be at Falkirk.
"We appreciate the task in hand, as it’s a big job and a big football club, but we’re excited at the prospect of trying to get it back where we think it should belong.”
