Classy John McGinn stayed behind to make some young Aston Villa fans' day after his side shot down Tottenham.
The Scotland hero is fast becoming a favourite in the West Midlands and captained them to a 2-1 victory over Spurs that keeps them in the hunt for Europe. He'd lost his spot as an automatic starter earlier in the season but has played every one of their last 14 games and captained them at Villa Park on Saturday, leading his side to a big Premier League win.
Rather than hit the town to celebrate, though, Steve Clarke's superstar hung back to sign autographs and pose for photos with young fans who had gathered at the gates. Birmingham Live's Ashley Preece shared a heartwarming snap on Twitter showing McGinn greeting the youngsters who were clamouring for his attention. He applauded the skipper for being "brilliant on and off the pitch.
He wrote on Twitter: "John McGinn among the last to leave again, making sure he's spoken to each and every AVFC fan waiting with their phones for selfies and programmes to be signed. You should see the kids' faces, sprinting over to tell their mums and dads. Skipper brilliant on and off the pitch."
One fan responded: "Top guy. Also came and high fived loads of us in north stand at the end of the game as well! Made my son's day," and another wrote: "You can’t help but love that man, everything about him oozes class."
