John Lewis shoppers rush to snap up 'stylish and warm' cardigan for spring

John Lewis shoppers have been obsessing over a "lovely" £49 striped cardigan after snapping it up online.

The department store is popular for its on-trend clothing, footwear and accessories, with many items selling out quickly after launching. Recently, its Textured Cardigan is being hailed as "stylish" and "nice for spring".

The £49 knit comes in a navy-and-white stiped version that has now sold out in most sizes. However, there's a brand-new colourway available on the John Lewis website, featuring green stripes instead of navy.

As it can be styled with pretty much anything, it's a great addition to your spring capsule wardrobe.

Nearly all of the reviews include a five-star rating, with many shoppers praising the cardigan for its versatility.

"Nice fit - neat and almost like wearing a little jacket. This will be so useful coming into Spring/summer. Could be dressed up smart or down for casual," said one person.

Another penned: "Really pleased as a perfect fit as I'm under 5' 2. Looking forward to wearing it on holiday by the sea in May."

A third raved: "I love the neatness of this boxy cardigan - I prefer knitwear to jackets for comfort but this piece is a great compromise between the two - less informal and unstructured and much smarter than an average cardi! It's going to get a lot of wear this year."

But one reviewer said the cardigan runs slightly small, so if you are keen to add this to your collection, be sure to check the measurements of your size.

You can purchase the John Lewis Textured Cardigan for £49 at johnlewis.com. Those wanting to snap up the black-and-navy version can still grab it in sizes 12 and 18, while the white-and-green option is available in sizes eight to 20.

Looking for something cheaper? SHEIN's Striped Pattern Single Breasted Cardigan boasts a similar design in black and white, costing only £13.99.
