John Lewis sent two-word messages over Christmas 2022 advert as viewers say they 'didn't want to cry'

It's that time of year again as John Lewis has released its hotly-anticipated Christmas advert. And it appears its 2022 offering has had people crying over their cereal upon its release on Thursday morning (November 10).

Over the years we have seen everything from Excitable Edgar and Monty The Penguin to Sir Elton John and the Man On The Moon all take centre stage in the retail giant's annual advert. But this year, things are different with no character but a really important story and message.

This year, John Lewis has used its Christmas ad to raise awareness of children in care with the story of a middle-aged man learning to skateboard before welcoming a young teenager into the family home.
