Christmas is on its way and many are beginning to wonder what this year's John Lewis Christmas advert will look like.
For many, Christmas doesn’t really start until John Lewis unveils its advert for the festive season. The highly anticipated advert - which featured 'Together In Electric Dreams' by Lola Young last year - has become a staple of the Christmas calendar.
In previous years the popular advert has arrived on screen in the first two weeks of November - so we’re expecting it any minute. Below, we’ve taken a look at what we know about the famous ad.

What was last year’s John Lewis Christmas advert?
Last year the ad featured a budding friendship between Nathan and space traveller Skye. Nathan helped her discover the magic of her first Christmas - mince pies and all. Their friendship blossomed, while the pair watched Christmas films and played in the snow, until it was time for Skye to return home after fixing her ship.
The bittersweet, heart-warming moment where Nathan gifted her his Christmas jumper (the one he wore when they first met) was definitely an emotional moment. As Skye left, she disappeared into the night sky and left a twinkling star on a Christmas tree in the distance. The song chosen for the advert was 'Together In Electric Dreams' by Lola Young, a stripped version of the classic by Phillip Oakley & Giorgio Moroder.
When will the John Lewis Christmas advert 2022 be released?
Since 2014, the John Lewis Christmas advert has been released in early November, typically between November 7 - 15. It's often revealed early on a Friday morning. Last year, the ad dropped on November 4, but the 2020 advert arrived on November 13. Taking to Instagram on November 9, John Lewis confirmed that its new Christmas advert would be released on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
The post showed a small clip of a man moving a Christmas tree on a skateboard, alongside the caption: "Christmas is ramping up #TheBeginner. Visit our Instagram story to get notified when our ad launches".
What will be the John Lewis Christmas advert song for 2022?
John Lewis is keeping tight-lipped about just what song could feature in the popular advert - but it’s always fun to guess. It’s rare that anyone guesses right, too, since the retailer is known for guarding its secret well. Singers who have featured on John Lewis Christmas adverts in the past include Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Tom Odell and Sir Elton John.
