John Hartson believes former team-mate John Kennedy is potentially picking the correct timing for an exit from his beloved Celtic.
The former defender has shown unwavering loyalty to the Parkhead club after they supported his route into coaching following a horrific end to his playing career at the age of just 26. He has served as assistant manager and interim boss on occasion and is a valued member of Ange Postecoglou's backroom staff. New reports have suggested though that Danish club FC Midtjylland are weighing up whether or not to put wheels in motion to make him their new manager.
Hartson was with Kennedy during his own five-year stint at Celtic, which ended in 2006. He believes that with Harry Kewell arriving as a coach, it could be a good call to try and become his own man. He told Go Radio: "Nothing has come out of Celtic and Ange hasn't said his assistant is leaving.

"But I'll give my comments. I think it might be time, if Harry Kewell has come in, Gavin Strachan is there... I think John will have picked up some valuable experience working with some great managers.
"He's had a taste for it himself. Maybe when he got that taster he might just have thought that he wouldn't mind a go at it on his own. John will do very well wherever he goes.
"I wish John well. I was at the club when he got that injury, tragic. He's had a great run at Celtic but maybe it is the right time for John to go and show he can be a number one."
