Seething John Hartson has unleashed on Kris Boyd following comments made about Celtic captain Callum McGregor.
Celtic announced they were "addressing" claims made by Boyd after he claimed Rangers players should have been "testing out" his protective mask in last week's derby.
But skipper McGregor has put the row behind him following behind the scenes talks with the Ibrox striker.
But Parkhead legend Hartson wasn't as forgiving as he took aim at the pundit on The Go Radio Football Show.
He insists Boyd can't call out the current crop of talent because he "never got close" to any opposition player in his career.
He said: "I think Callum himself thought the comments were in bad taste and has now commented on it.
"He said that Kris Boyd has got in contact and as far as he is concerned it's finished, but you don't quite know if he meant a Rangers player should smash Callum McGregor in the face to test his mask.
"I think what he was trying to say was get near him, get close to Callum McGregor.
"But I don't know what Kris Boyd is doing saying that because he never laid a glove on anyone during his career. He never got close to anyone to do that.
"If he is insinuating that the players should have been more aggressive towards Callum McGregor, Callum thinks that is in bad taste, and I agree with him."
