John Gotti III has been banned by the Florida State Athletic Commission for his post-fight brawl with Floyd Mayweather.
Gotti, the grandson of notorious New York mob boss John Gotti, was the opponent for Mayweather's latest exhibition fight as the pair met in Miami this past weekend. Gotti was disqualified by referee Kenny Bayless in the sixth round but that didn't stop him from going at Mayweather as he charged towards the boxing legend whilst winging punches.
A wild scene then occurred with both Gotti and Mayweather's teams brawling in the ring. Troubles also carried over to the crowd and backstage as the glorified sparring match descended into chaos. Gotti has now been punished for his actions as a statement read: "The DBPR Florida Athletic Commission took immediate action the evening of Sunday, June 11, and suspended John Gotti III for six months."

Gotti insisted his feud with Mayweather was far from over after the fight and he even dragged UFC legend Conor McGregor 's name into the equation by writing of Mayweather: "Punk b****, you my enemy for life. [Conor McGregor], we need back up. Bum never put me down or stopped me it was a DQ for no reason."
McGregor, who was stopped by Mayweather in their 2017 'money fight' responded to Gotti's comments in a now-deleted Twitter voice note that said: "I back the Gottis, el tempo es dinero." When translated from Spanish to English, the second part of McGregor's comment reads "time is money".
Mayweather wasn't caught up in the brawls that took place backstage, as the former five-weight world champion said of the incident whilst in his dressing room: "Man, that s*** was crazy". Gotti's sister Nicolette launched an X-rated rant aimed at Mayweather on Instagram after the brawl as she promised to get revenge by "coming for his daughter".
Mayweather was not handed any punishment from the Florida commission for his involvement in the brawl. The boxing legend has been on an exhibition tour around the world since retiring from professional competition after his stoppage win against McGregor, having previously competed against the likes of YouTuber Logan Paul and reality TV star Aaron Chalmers.
