After 15 years at the helm of the Kentucky Wildcats men's basketball program, John Calipari has announced his decision to step down as head coach. Calipari cited the need for a change, stating that the program could benefit from hearing another voice. This comes amid reports linking him to a potential coaching position at Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference.
During his tenure, Calipari led the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA championship and made four Final Four appearances. However, recent seasons have not met Kentucky's high standards, with disappointing NCAA Tournament performances, including first-round exits in the last three trips.
