Joelinton has revealed that Eddie Howe was as good as his word when telling fans Newcastle United would approach their crunch fixture with Tottenham Hotspur with "no fear".
The proof was in the pudding with a thumping 6-1 win of course as United roared into a 5-0 lead inside 21 minutes. Joelinton spoke about the message Howe gave to his players ahead of the biggest game in years.
Joelinton told Chronicle Live: "It was a great start, we took our chances. We started really well. We did what the gaffer wanted us to do, get on the front foot. Press high with nice energy from everybody. It was positive energy. We took our chances."

Newcastle next move on to Everton for their encounter at Goodison Park. And Joelinton - one of the leaders in the dressing room - made it clear nobody is getting complacent.
The Brazilian star said: "It's not done yet. Thursday is an important game. It was a great atmosphere.
"We enjoyed the night after it but from Monday it's focus on the next game. It's seven finals to play and we go one match at a time."
Joelinton's cool finish to put Newcastle 2-0 up was his seventh of the campaign. Whether he plays in midfield or the front three his days of struggle, at the start of his £40million move from Hoffenheim, now seem behind him.
Joelinton said: "Ever since I arrived I wanted to do good things. I wanted to make people happy. I just kept going and never let my head go down. That hard work is showing now."
