Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall believes that the team can achieve ‘something special’ at the end of the season as Steve Cooper’s men took a massive step towards the Premier League.
The Reds came out as 1-0 winners over already-promoted Fulham on Tuesday night, Philip Zinckernagel’s goal proving to be the difference between the two sides. That three points paired with Bournemouth’s 3-3 draw against Swansea City means that a top-two finish is now in Forest’s hands.
Three wins from all of their final three games will see Steve Cooper’s side play Premier League football next season. That is due to one of the game being against the Cherries as Forest travel down to the South coast next week.

Following the win over Fulham, Worrall insisted that their eyes were not on events at the Swansea City Stadium as Bournemouth came from 3-0 down to draw. “We won 1-0, that’s the only thing we can control, sorry to give you the PC answer but that’s the way it is,” the defender told Sky Sports after the game.
“We’re a humble group, we work hard for each other, as you can see tonight to shut out Mitrovic, Wilson, some top players there, heading for the Premier League. I though we were fantastic to the man today and got the much deserved three points.”
The win means that the turnaround under Cooper is almost complete, with Forest sitting in the relegation zone when the Welshman took charge. That turnaround has seen a philosophy bought to the club, with Worrall opening up on the feeling around the place.
“You look at us the last six or seven months, we’ve been fantastic, I think everybody, the kitchen staff, the gym staff, everybody running all through the football club, the car-park attendants, the ground staff, everybody, we’re all driven to the same end goal,” he said. “And that has come in since the manager has arrived, he’s sat us all down, given us that belief to play.
“We’re all very humble, very hungry and we all want success and this football club has been in this division for far too long and I think I can just sense that can achieve something special.”
