TV star Joe Swash has been branded a "true gent" after it was revealed he carried a 95-year-old woman into hospital during his 'honeymoon' with new wife Stacey Solomon. The former EastEnders star is currently enjoying their first full summer off with Stacey and their children.
But a recent public interaction with Joe has caught people's attention as he went to help an elderly woman after she struggled to find a wheelchair.
The 40-year-old's act of kindness was revealed on Twitter by a woman named "Suz", who's nan it was that Joe, had rushed to help. Her tweet, posted on Tuesday (August 16), read: "Yesterday my 95 year old nan had a hospital app, in a very busy hospital my 2 aunties that took her couldn't find a wheelchair so had to half carry her in, out of all the people there a man ran straight to them to help @realjoeswash thank you so much @StaceySolomon".
Joe even replied to Suz's tweet as he said: "No problem! Your nan looks amazing for 95 hope she Is ok." Suz then replied back, writing: "Thank you, she keeps telling everyone that you said she only looks 70! You made an old ladies day!!!!"
After coming across the tweet, fans quickly flooded Joe with praise. @DuttonSarah said: "Ah this really doesn’t surprise me. Joe and Stacey come across as such lovely people, not just for the cameras. Both really kind hearted. I hope your nan is ok." @DavidMackayy commented: "This is so kind, what a legend."
@druid74 replied: "Joe you give hope for humanity. Your act of kindness was a real gift to someone who was struggling. 100% amazing geezer bless you and your family with all the joy in the world." @Sarah_K_B83 shared: "Ahhh @realjoeswash what a decent, kind, honest guy he is!" @georgina_ingram simply added: "A true gent!"
Joe's kind act came just a few weeks after he tied the knot with Loose Women panelist Stacey. The pair said 'I Do' in a stunning Jewish ceremony in the garden of their £1.2million Essex home, affectionately named Pickle Cottage. The pair welcomed their nearest and dearest - including Loose Women's Linda Robson and cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch - to watch them exchange their vows.
Since then, the couple have been spending time with their children as they settle into life as Mr and Mrs Solomon-Swash. In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Stacey, 32, said of the couple's post-wedding plans: "We've took the summer holidays off with the kids. It's the first time we've ever done it. So we're at home with the kids while they're on their summer holiday and it's been so nice."
But last week she shared a clip of the sweet moment she and her new husband ticked off one of their 'bucket list' ideas during a date night. Taking to Instagram to share the black and white video with her more than five million followers, Stacey shared how she and Joe enjoyed 'the most special night' at a Simply Red concert on Sunday, which the mum-of-four explained meant a lot to Joe.
The 32-year-old filmed the pair singing along to one of the band's biggest hits. As they had the time of their lives under the night sky, Stacey captioned the video: "Hello everyone, trying to do some bucket list outings for our honeymoon." She went on to share the poignance of the pair attending the Simply Red concert.
She penned: "We went on a date night Sunday to go and see Simply Red. When Joe was younger his mum and dad used to take him in a caravan and sing Simply Red all the way. This is one of his favourite memories being little with his dad. So it was the most special night. Love you @RealJoeSwashy."
