During his introductory press conference on Wednesday, incoming New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen cleared up a major question that many fans and pundits wanted an answer to: What is his assessment of fourth year quarterback Daniel Jones?
For some fans, the answer will not be satisfactory. For others, they will be thrilled.
Schoen says the Giants will allow Daniel Jones to put his best foot forward. Says he's a great kid with a great work ethic and a desire to win.
Praises his on-field ability. Says he's excited to work with DJ and adds team will "build around" him.

“I know he’s a great kid. I’ve talked to him, the kid has physical ability,” Schoen said of Jones.
That is an indication that Jones’ upside may have been part of the reason he took the job. Certainly not the only one, but enough of one.
And co-owner John Mara? He’s on board with Schoen’s thinking on DJ.
“We do feel Daniel can play. We’ve done everything possible to screw this kid up since he’s been here,” Mara said following the press conference.
Schoen also told reporters that he and the new coaching staff will be doing a deep dive on Jones via film and determine what he does best and where he needs to improve.
Jones’ fifth-year option is due this spring and that determination will have to come soon. If Schoen is locked into Jones, it will make his job of rebuilding this team a lot easier.
