Joe Rogan hopes one of the first things AI replaces is human government

  • Podcaster Joe Rogan suggested artificial intelligence could eventually replace humans in government and end all international military conflicts.
  • “It sounds like a crazy hope but my hope is that as AI becomes more and more omnipresent, as we start farming off various tasks to it, one of the things that we’re gonna farm off is government,” Rogan said. “One of the things we’re gonna farm off is how we interact with other countries. I know that’s terrifying to people but just think of the disastrous effects that we’ve had so far with humans doing it. If all international military conflicts ended instantaneously upon AI governing the use of conflicts and military weapons – imagine that.”
  • Rogan's remarks come amid mounting warnings from researchers like former Anthropic employee Jacob Coxon, who cautioned that rapid AI development poses existential risks and industry leaders, including Elon Musk, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei have called for greater regulation and a slower pace of AI development.
  • Donald Trump rejected calls for AI guardrails, arguing that slowing Silicon Valley's progress would hand China a competitive advantage.
  • House Speaker Mike Johnson supported Trump's position that the AI sector should self-regulate without government intervention.
